Council Dinner
California Inland Empire Council
Volunteer Recognition Dinner
14075 Frederick St
Moreno Valley, CA 92553
The California Inland Empire Council Volunteer Recognition Dinner is an annual event dedicated to celebrating and honoring the volunteers who support Scouting in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. This dinner brings together Council Volunteers to acknowledge the significant contributions of troop leaders, committee members, and others who play essential roles in guiding and supporting youth development through Scouting.
The evening includes dinner, fellowship, networking opportunities, and the presentation of the prestigious Silver Beaver Award. The highest award given by the Council Level to volunteers who have shown outstanding service at the Council level.
The Volunteer Recognition Dinner will also include a “State of the Council” address, given by Council President, John Vineyard. This will highlight the council’s progress over the past year, including membership growth, advancements in programs, improvements to camp facilities, and financial health.
This message serves as a moment for the scouting community to reflect on the council’s collective achievements and to build excitement for the year ahead. It provides clarity and transparency about the council’s direction and reinforces the shared vision that guides its mission to serve youth and families in the Inland Empire region.
The Silver Beaver
The Silver Beaver Award is the highest honor that a local Boy Scouts of America Council can present to a volunteer. It was established in 1931 and is awarded to adult Scouting volunteers who have made an exceptional impact on the lives of youth through distinguished service at the Council Level. This prestigious award recognizes those whose commitment goes above and beyond regular volunteering, reflecting leadership, dedication, and a profound influence on the Scouting program and community.
Recipients of the Silver Beaver Award are nominated by their peers within the Council, and only a select few receive the honor each year. The award is presented during the Council’s Annual Volunteer recognition dinner.
This award is seen as a mark of deep respect and gratitude within the Scouting community, celebrating those who have tirelessly worked to promote Scouting’s mission of character-building, citizenship, and leadership for young people.
